This guided visualization meditation also employs a brief body scan that encourages body awareness as well as a sense of relaxation.

 

Squeeze / Release / Relax the Body

This practice, adapted from Chopra.com, is based on a progressive muscle relaxation technique developed in the 1920s and modified for young children. Progressive relaxation (tense and release) trains the muscles to know the difference between tension and relaxation and enhances a child’s ability to identify that difference.
